SK Gaming are through to the IEM Sydney final after easing past OpTic on two maps (16-1 on Train and 16-7 on Overpass). The series kicked off on Train, which was OpTic's map pick, but the outcome would have suggested otherwise. SK jumped out to a 6-0 lead and immediately put the North Americans in danger of getting blown out. OpTic then finally got a round on the board, but they were unable to follow it up, getting instantly reset. With nothing going their way, OpTic's players were in a state of complete disarray, allowing some strong individual plays from João "felps" Vasconcellos and Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, with the half ending in a 14-1 scoreline. Marcelo "coldzera" David piled more misery on OpTic by clutching a 1v3 situation in the pistol round, putting SK on map point. The Brazilians went on to close out the map as they entered the inner bombsite without any resistance.
Map two, Overpass, followed the same pattern as the first, with SK strolling to a massive 10-1 lead on the Terrorist side. With a well-placed incendiary, Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas prevented the bomb plant and gave OpTiC their second round of the map, with his team going on to pick up two more rounds before the end of the half. Down 4-11, OpTic won the pistol round as Terrorist with a team ace and followed that up with the corresponding anti-ecos. However, once we reached the gun rounds the course of the game changed immediately as SK won five in a row en-route to a 16-7 finish. IEM Sydney 2017Best of 3
